Carian Coast 1 week Family Trip
A trip that condenses the wonders of our Cruising the Carian Coast itinerary into one glorious week. We head west from Göçek to Bodrum, ancient Halicarnassus, along a gorgeous and virtually undeveloped coastline.
We visit some of the greatest gems on Turkey’s southwest coast: Caunos with its exquisite rock-cut temple tombs, and beautifully preserved Knidos, a monumental marbled city arranged around a double harbour.
As well as these celebrated monumental sites where excavations have been going on for decades, we visit ancient towns like Phoenix and Lydae, set in remote and beautiful locations, that remain completely untouched.
We know that a gulet trip makes for a fun and fascinating family holiday. Children love playing in the sea and exploring the ancient ruins - taking the stage and performing in the Greek and Roman theatres. Peter’s 8-year old daughter, Rebecca, has sailed on gulets numerous times, revelling in the chance to swim in the warm sea whenever she likes.
From lizards to wild herbs, tortoises to all manner of creepy crawlies, there’s a wealth of Mediterranean animals and plants for children to discover. There’s wonderful new foods to savour, different sounds to hear, and loads to see - a truly exotic adventure.
