The library of Celsus at Ephesus
The library of Celsus at Ephesus, a breathtaking marble monument, adorns one of the key cross roads in this ancient city. Built as a tomb for Celsus, a local Roman governor, it dates back some 1,900 years. Still being excavated by archaeologists, Ephesus is one of the best preserved Roman cities not just in Turkey, but the entire Mediterrean.
