A rock tomb at Termessus
In 333, Alexander surrounded Termessos in Pisidia, but failed to conquer it. He likened the strategic and wealthy city to an eagle's nest. Today, the rock-cut tombs that surround the city, dating from before and after Alexander's time, are a reminder of its former glory.
