Life aboard the gulet › Windsurfing in a quiet bay

A windsurfer is freely available on the gulet Almira. Sometimes it’s possible to windsurf right in the harbour of an ancient city on Turkey's beautiful coastline, as here at Aperlae. This small archaeological site, on the Lycian coast of Turkey, was a major centre for processing purple dye, from murex trunculus sea snails in antiquity. Lycian sarcophagi crowd the ruins which include Roman baths, along with Hellenistic fortifications and Byzantine defences, seen here in the background in this photo.
