Day 1: Our gulet is about 2hrs 30 minutes from Antalya airport at Üçagiz, a pretty harbour in the quiet waters opposite Kekova Island. Welcome dinner on board.
Day 2: To fascinating Kale, site of ancient Simena, perched beneath a melee of Lycian tombs and an Ottoman fort. One of the most romantic settings of the holiday.
Day 3: We sail west to Kas, a beautiful village of white-washed houses covered with bougainvillea. Ancient Antiphellos lies littered around the modern town: stunning sarcophagi and a theatre with a magnificent sea view.
Day 4: We set off for pretty Kalkan. Inland to Xanthus, the great capital of ancient Lycia, and the Letoön (if there is time). A sunset swim at Patara, where excavations are uncovering a vast monumental Roman city, offers a refreshing end to the day.
Day 5: We cruise north to Gemiler Island, with its superb Byzantine churches: a pilgrimage centre for St Nicholas. The area is perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Day 7: A last dip before sailing into Fethiye. A visit to Telmessus’ massive cliff face tombs and a final chance to shop.
Day 8: Transfer from our gulet to Dalaman airport, about 45 minutes away.
