May 2-4 2008
We are going to be exhibiting at the first public Archaeology exhibition in the UK – Discover Archaeology Live, at the new, larger Grand Hall at Olympia in London.
Part of the National History Show sponsored by The Times, the show features an extensive speaker programme including Time Team’s Tony Robinson, and lots more. As well as archaeology there’s a section devoted to Military History and to Genealogy, under the umbrella of the popular BBC TV series ‘Who do you think you are?’.
We will be at stand 236, right opposite the Archaeology Theatre. Do come down and say hello. If you’ve travelled with us before, it will be a pleasure to catch up over a coffee or a spot of lunch. If you’ve not yet been on one of our archaeological tours, now’s your chance to come and meet us in person and find out more about what we do.
Features include:
• Hands on archaeological activities - handle and identify finds, and participate in an interactive mock excavation!
• Workshops with more than 100 sessions on a wide range of historical topics
• Ask the Experts, where visitors can receive one-to-one expert help and advice
• The People’s Museum where visitors can bring objects and artefacts, and learn more about their background, authenticity, and obtain a valuation
• Entertainment Stage featuring entertainments and recreations from the past
• The Who Do You Think You Are? theatre will feature celebrities, like Alistair McGowan and Nicky Campbell from the BBC TV series recounting their experiences
• Battle theatre: hosted by Peter and Dan Snow, where visitors will be able to relive history’s greatest battles
• The History Theatre featuring the biggest line-up of TV historians
Tickets cost £18 per person, but we have 10 free tickets to give away! Just get in touch - first come, first served!
