Eyüp Özdemir
Eyüp has a degree in ancient history focusing on the Hittite civilisation, from Ankara University. Following his academic education, he became an official tour guide, passing all the necessary exams in Turkey in 2008. Since then he has led tours all over the country, from Cappadocia and Eastern Turkey to Istanbul and the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts.
Eyüp has also had a wide variety of roles in tourism, working as a restaurant manager, a hotel manager, a regional manager for one of Turkey's leading specialist patisseries and more. We're delighted that Eyüp, currently based in Izmir with his family, has been accompanying a variety of our tours since 2015.
"Eyup was kind, friendly, thoughtful, patient and tremendously helpful. He kept us on time, helped passengers who needed assistance and worked very well with Dr. Spivey. He is an asset to your company." Margaret-Anne Gillis
"Eyup was a calm, quiet presence who was always there if help was needed or questions asked. Always there to give an appreciated helping hand on the steep part of the hikes. We loved his magic tricks! This trip was our on "bucket list" since we visited Turkey for the first time 40 years ago. We feel so fortunate that we were able to do it: the perfect mix of history, exercise, relaxation, excellent guides and amazing food." Carol Wade
"Knowledgeable guides (both Turkish and English) made every day special. The trips to ancient sites were fascinating. Loved pretty much every minute. The tour was magical. Everything was perfectly organised and everyone was charming and helpful. The on board hospitality was outstanding. The guides, Nigel and Eyup, were so knowledgeable that no question went unanswered. The archaeological sites were fascinating. We were really very sad that it had to end!" Jocelyn Blackwell
"Eyup our local guide was fabulous. He got the balance just right, was charming, helpful, considerate, engaged and interesting. Could not do enough for us." Angela Fahy
"Eyüp was so helpful and patient. The entire experience was amazing, thank you. "Lorna Andrew
