What to Expect when travelling with PST

Our aim has always been to deliver exceptional experiences. Our high standards and the safety, comfort and well-being of our guests will remain at the core of our planning.

Your Health & Safety

Your health and safety has always been one of our top priorities. We closely monitor the latest information from regional, national, and local governments, health authorities and the detailed knowledge from our local teams.

Prior to your departure, we will be in touch to let you know any specific requirements of the destination country. Formalities to ensure your health and safety will be in place on all trips.

Our Tour Leaders, Tour Managers and Local Guides

As ever, our highly skilled team of guides will make sure you are well-informed and feeling safe, comfortable well looked after throughout your trip. Our guides have always conducted detailed health and safety checks prior to the start of tours, and they will continue to do so, liaising with all of our local suppliers, and will be properly briefed with regard to our and the local destination’s up to date health and safety protocols. As they have always done, our guiding team will adjust the logistics of a trip should circumstances require and give you regular briefings to ensure that you are properly informed regarding the running of the tour.

Group Sizes

The small size of our groups is one of the defining features of our trips. Our scheduled tours have a maximum of 18 guests, and many of the tours have a maximum of 10, 11, 12 or 14 guests. Please do ask if you’d like to double check the upper limit for a particular tour. We believe that small groups ensure a better and more personal experience and quality of service and enables us to use smaller, more characterful and boutique accommodation, whether hotels or gulets, which contrast with the larger chain hotels or cruise ships used by many other travel companies.

Our Gulets, Hotels, Restaurants, Transportation and Local Partners

We put a great deal of time and energy into preparing all of our tours. We visit and inspect all of the gulets, hotels and restaurants we use and have carefully hand-picked them. We have been working with many of them for a great many years. We have carefully established personal and trusted relationships with our partners and have excellent lines of communication with them. All of them, out of necessity, have to comply with local health and safety regulations. They need to adapt to changing regulations and protocols and we will liaise with them carefully to ensure they are meeting our own exacting standards.

Gulet trips as ‘Bubble Travel’

All of our trips, land and sea based, have the benefit of their small group size. In addition, we think our gulet trips are the perfect way to travel in this COVID-19 or post COVID-19 age. They have a number of extra positives: the focus is on outdoor living all day (including meals outside on board on the deck of the gulet); lots of deck space and plenty of fresh air and sunshine throughout. There are also great opportunities for additional healthy exercise off the gulet – swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding etc. as well as the actual walking when we are out exploring.

During our gulet cruises we don’t tend to mix with many other people, outside of our fellow guests, and on some itineraries, such as our walking trips, we come into contact with very few others. Also, there is just a small number of ‘staff’ – the crew, typically three to five in number, and 1 or 2 guides.

Private tours

Our private land-based tours and gulet charters are the perfect way to travel as a small bubble. We can tailor trips for families or groups of friends just the way you would like with your very own expert guide(s) to look after you.

Book with Confidence

We understand that flexibility is a key factor when booking a trip during these unprecedented times. We have, therefore, set out a new policy that we hope will give you complete confidence when booking one of our scheduled tours. See our Book with Confidence Policy.

A changing world

Of course, the global situation will change and these guidelines and how we and our partners respond will also need to change. We will always defer to and follow the local health authorities regarding best practice. As ever, we recommend you consult your home country’s policies as the latest travel advisories regarding any restrictions or measures that may affect your travel plans.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We will be delighted to help.
