The success of any tour depends on logistics. The basic, behind the scenes, practical arrangements are the very nuts and bolts of making a trip a success - from making sure a vehicle arrives at the right location, to the crucial matter of timing.

Meticulous planning is all very well, but actually making it happen is key. We depend absolutely on our local travel partners in Turkey to ensure all our gulet cruises, archaeological tours, and historical holidays run smoothly, which isn’t altogether an easy thing in a country like Turkey where time is usually a very flexible dimension.

Fortunately, we’ve been working with Almira Travel since 1996. In that time we’ve seen them grow from a one office base in Bodrum, into a dynamic company with seven offices across Turkey, offering car rentals, flight tickets, and gulet cruises. Yet our key personal contacts have remained unchanged. Alper Akbay is still the visionary owner who presides over the entire enterprise, a vibrant and energetic businessman with a deep passion for designing traditional gulets.

Cem Yucesoy, our main logistics coordinator, has organised all our tours to date, from choosing minibus drivers to booking local guides.
