"Previously, we were very sceptical about guided tours, but with Peter Sommer Travels (PST) we were very satisfied. They use guides who are experts in their respected fields and the areas we were visiting. They also have a local guide from the country we were visiting. Knowledge however, is one thing, but PST guides also have the ability to put that information over in a way for people to understand. Having studied archaeology at university, I knew a lot about ancient sites. The guides, in this case Peter Sommer himself, bought these sites to life in a way I had never been taught.
Walking and Cruising the Carian Coast was a wonderful experience. It bought together my love of boats and the sea, walking through lovely landscapes and visiting ancient places. It was also lovely meeting like-minded people from across the world. PST take small groups, and you get to know everyone, which enhanced our experience even further. We are now planning our next PST holiday."

Exploring Sicily
"Exploring Sicily was a terrific introduction to the long, rich history of Sicily. We visited many iconic historic sites, and the guides brought them alive, happily engaged with us travellers. The accommodation was top-notch, and the food beyond description.
Olivier's expertise in ancient Sicilian history and welcoming manner enriched the experience at every site we visited. His associate, Giuseppe, provided the same for the medieval sites. Fascinating discussions throughout the trip!"

A Gastronomic Gulet Cruise in Turkey
"Our food cruise in Turkey was an amazing trip on board a magnificent mulberry, mahogany, and teak sailboat, Sultan A. Built in 1995 with 8 cabins (each with a shower, toilet and sink) plus accommodations for the crew of 5, our traditional gulet was comfortable as well as safe. Every meal was excellent with a variety of choices and my food allergy was respected!
I highly recommend this gastronomic tour. In addition to learning how certain dishes were prepared, we watched our teachers pull roasted eggplants out of the fire with bare hands. We visited an olive oil press and learned how the process has changed over time. We also visited a vineyard. Fun! As we were in Turkey, it was fun to visit a few archaeological ruins. Great trip!"

"Cruising to Ephesus exceeded our expectations in every way. The guides and crew were excellent, the boat was beautiful, comfortable and a great way to travel, the food was to die for and the ancient sites that we visited and often had nearly to ourselves were fascinating. We will definitely go with Peter Sommer Travels again in the future.

Exploring the Peloponnese
"The tour Exploring the Peloponnese tour far exceeded my expectations. Our two guides were wonderful storytellers with an impressive breadth of knowledge about the history behind all the sites we visited. This is quite impressive given what a great span of time (9,000 years) and the many civilizations that were included in the tour. The trip is well-paced and I'm looking forward to another Peter Sommer Travels tour in the future.
The tour was flawlessly organized with great attention to pace, the sites we visited, and lovely boutique hotels. Best of all were the two tour guides who made the trip memorable from beginning to end."
